Since July, 2010 and the start of the school year the Long Beach, N.Y. School District, along with the Jason F. Gruen Research Foundation (run by Susan Helsinger) has moved forward with the echocardiogram program, for the third consecutive year. The School district sent the contracts to Schneider Children’s Hospital for approval, however, Schneider is no longer the hospital’s benefactor. It is now the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York/North Shore/LIJ. As a result, the contracts have to be redone & resubmitted. Other school districts, such as Bellmore/Merrick & Great Neck are similarly affected. Stay tuned!
